Krungthai Bank today announced it has rolled out an innovative Internet-based banking service under the name KTB netbank. Dubbed “the future of banking,” KTB netbank offers customers integrated one-stop services that are safe, convenient and easy to use along with higher deposit interest rates and lower fees than normal banking channels. To mark the new service’s launch, the bank is offering an iPad 2 to the first 10,000 customers who open a NetFixed deposit account to use as a tool for accessing KTB netbank services.

KTB president, Apisak Tantivorawong revealed that in accordance with KTB’s vision of being the most convenient bank in the market, the bank seeks to provide superior customer care to all clients, from key accounts to SMEs, from public sector clients to retail customers. In terms of retail customer care, the bank has incorporated state-of-the-art technology to make its services even easier and more convenient to use. KTB netbank, its latest service, represents the future of banking and offers customers unlimited financial freedom by making their lives easier and more convenient and by utilizing a security system to enhance their confidence in using the service, says KTB’s president.

“We have developed a system that offers customers even more ease when using our services,” says Apisak. “Customers only need to visit our physical branch once, to open an account. Thereafter, you can do all your banking transactions on KTB netbank, including opening additional accounts, applying for bank cards, and using account services such as deposits, intrabank and interbank transfers, scheduled transfers, payment for goods and services, mobile phone top-ups, and balance checking. All these services are available at lower fees than those charged by our physical branches. You can also view your account statements online without using a passbook. And most importantly, KTB netbank customers can take advantage of our special high-interest deposits, which are available in three types: NetSavings, NetSpecial Savings offering an interest of 0.50% over normal savings deposits, and NetSmartFixed.”

KTB’s president went on to say that during KTB netbank’s introductory period starting May 10, the bank is offering an iPad 2 to the first 10,000 customers who open a NetFixed account and deposit 550,000 baht for 55 months at 3.2% per year, or deposit 1,000,000 baht for 29 months at 2.9% per year. The iPad 2’s are given away on a first-come, first-served basis and can be picked up at the branch where customers open their NetSmartFixed account starting in June.

In conclusion, Apisak said that Krungthai Bank will continue to develop KTB netbank services so that in the future customers will be able to use KTB netbank to take care of all their financial transactions, from trading stocks and mutual funds to buying life and non-life insurance, to applying for loans and requesting financial advice from bank staff, just as they can now do at KTB’s physical branches. Designed to serve the needs of customers, especially the younger generations, KTB netbank enables them to fulfill their financial, lifestyle, information and entertainment needs through its one-stop services.
