| KTB boosts up biomass power plant |
In attempt to expand Krung Thai bank’s SME loan throughout the nation, most recently, the Bank has made loans worth 381 million baht, which helps building a biomass power plant at Yala Province. The Bank revealed that its energy saving loans portfolio amount of over 90 billion baht. Mr. Weidt Nuchjalearn, Senior Executive Voce President, Managing Director, Business Center Group, Krung Thai Bank PCL. and Mrs. Pinthong Chereonwikraisakul, Managing Director, Yala Energy Co., Ltd. have jointly signed the agreement of 381 million baht to construct the 90.9 MW biomass power plant at Yala province, distributing energy from the plant to Provincial Electricity Authority. Mr. Weidt Nuchjalearn added that this project was supported by the government, more importantly, it was the eco-friendly and did not face any difficulties arose from its raw material since the company subsidiaries were processed rubber tree factories , enabling the biomass power plant to get 598 tons of this kind of trees as its source of energy everyday. Besides, he further stated that the Bank had lent SME loans worth over 340,000 billion baht in the past five months and it would focus on lending to business groups involving with foods and agricultural products, as the next move, due to high demand from foreign countries. |
