Krung Thai Bank has participateed in Taxi Thai Khem Kheng scheme, arranging 500 million baht for taxi co-operatives to lend at 3.65% p.a. The Bank also raised 700 million baht for urban community and villages’ funds. Most recently, it just launched prototype of microfinance loans at Nakhonrajchasima and intends to expand such loans to every part of the country.
“The Bank responded to the People’s Agenda policy issued by the government to relieve the public’s burdens. It has joined in the Taxi Thai Khem Kheng scheme, supporting taxi drivers to quickly and easily excess to financial institutions’ loans at low interest rate. The initial fund prepared worth 500 million baht. The Bank anticipated that the lending will start on the middle of this February” Ms. Sriprapha Pringpong, First Executive Vice President, Vice Managing Director, Government & State Enterprise Relations Group, Krung Thai Bank PCL.said
She further disclosed “Krung Thai Bank is going to co-operate with KTB leasing, its subsidiary, to provide hire-purchase loans to the taxi co-operatives at the flat rate of 3.65% p.a. The co-operatives, then, make loans to their members which will be repaid in installments within 5 years. Moreover, last year, Krung Thai Bank raised 700 million baht for over 700 of urban community and villages’ funds under the Bank’s responsibility, enabling the member with no needs to borrow from loan sharks. In addition, it launched prototype of microfinance loans to Save One market’s retail entrepreneurs on this February 1. The Bank gives a credit line of 100,000 baht per person, offering interest rate of 1.25% per month, paid within two years. Customers with creditworthiness will be considered to have the interest rate reduced and given an extra loan. |
